The Cannes Film Festival, one of the most glamorous events in the showbiz calendar, officially kicked off with the opening ceremony and the screening of “The Great Gatsby” on Wednesday night (May 15, 2013). Despite the wind and rain, a slew of A List stars and seasoned models, who arrived at Cannes for a week and a half of screenings of Hollywood's top movies, appeared in good spirits and greeted the crowds on the sodden red carpet. They all didn’t seem to mind the pouring weather, still keeping their smiles on their faces even when the rain was pouring down more and more. Nicole Kidman was not bothered by the storms that soaked the Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet on Wednesday (May 15, 2013). The 45-year-old actress still stood out in her floral gown by Dior, matching her dress with pink patent shoes. She styled her hair in a quiff while posing with director and Jury president Steven Spielberg.
Lana Del Rey posed on the red carpet at the Opening Ceremony and “The Great Gatsby” Premiere during the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival at the Theatre Lumiere on Wednesday evening (May 15, 2013). The 26-year-old entertainer went for a vintage look at the celebrity-studded affair in a floorlength black and white gown. She looked stunning with the embroidered detailing while the train of the number dragged behind her. Miss Del Rey wore her dark locks in deep curls waving around her face and finished off her look with emerald earrings by Chopard.
Georgia May Jagger wore a Roberto Cavalli gown to the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony. The vibrant red number with a plunging neckline, cut-outs and embellished trims showed off her curves and slender physique while the wavy locks tumbling down her shoulders and the perfect red-hot pout completed her appearance.
Cindy Crawford looked like a timeless beauty, defying the laws of aging in a tight Roberto Cavalli dress. Her white gown with a gathered waist and plunging gold halter neckline helped the 47-year-old supermodel not only ooze sex appeal but also expose her tone arms and ample cleavage. Ms. Crawford let her auburn hair fall on her shoulders while her light makeup accentuated her deep brown eyes and glistening lips.
Fan Bingbing was dressed in a custom Louis Vuitton gown while she posed for pics on the red carpet at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Her duchess satin strapless gown with a grey and red sequined bodice, which was created especially for the Asian actress by the French fashion house, was styled with a minaudière and Chopard jewels.
Freida Pinto looked pretty beautiful in a pink Gucci dress. The Indian actress donned her custom silk chiffon halter gown that was cinched at the waist with a majorly embellished belt. She paired it with complementary open-toe shoes, also by Gucci, and selected Chopard earrings to add more gold to her look. Miss Pinto had her dark brown locks threaded into plaits and pulled away and up of her face to complete the appearance.
