Nate Berkus and boyfriend Jeremiah Brent engaged after nine months of dating

Chicago interior decorator Nate Berkus was engaged to his boyfriend of nearly nine months Jeremiah Brent on Monday (April 8, 2013). The 41-year-old TV personality and Oprah protege proposed to Rachel Zoe's former assistant while they were in Peru, completely surprising his beau because the couple were actually on a business trip. Joined by some friends, the two celebrated the blessed news on top of the famed Machu Picchu after dating for almost nine months. Nate Berkus first stepped out publicly with his boyfriend Jeremiah Brent in December 2012 when they were spotted ice-skating and later kissing in Barneys. Before being linked to Brent, the reality television star romanced his ex-boyfriend, photographer Fernando Bengoechea, who presumably died while they were on vacation during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami in Sri Lanka. Nate Berkus also dated footwear designer Brian Atwood from 2007 to 2009. He and his love interest Jeremiah Brent are now hoping to be parents soon through a surrogate mother.

Nate Berkus asked his boyfriend Jeremiah Brent to marry during their trip to Peru on Monday (April 8, 2013). They were on a shopping trip with executives of home furniture company One Kings Lane for a designer sale project Berkus is working on for the firm.

Nate Berkus’ boyfriend Jeremiah Brent was apparently completely blown over by the proposal because the lovebirds were traveling for Nate's job.

The former assistant to Rachel Zoe lived in Los Angeles while his partner was based in New York, but they split their time on both coasts.

Nate Berkus appeared regularly on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" until the series ended its run in 2010. The 41-year-old reality star then started to host his own daytime talk series "The Nate Berkus Show," which lasted two seasons.

Nate Berkus, who released the book, "The Things That Matter" last October, currently has a home interior line available at Target.

Kwame Harris: Gay NFL player arrested after fight with boyfriend Dimitri Geier

Kwame Harris, the 2003 first-round draft pick, came out as a gay man in an interview with CNN on Friday (March 29, 2013). The former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle said that he knew he was gay while playing in the league. However, he kept it a secret out of fear because he did not believe being gay was "compatible" with his career. "I didn't see those two things as being compatible, but now when I look back in hindsight, if I could have done it differently, I'd like to think that I would find the strength, or find the fortitude or the grace to make the hard decision," Kwame Harris said during the interview. It was the first time the 31-year-old player has publicly spoken about being gay since he was arrested in January following a fight with his boyfriend Dimitri Geier over "soy sauce and underwear." The trouble started in August last year when Kwame Harris and his beau were sharing dinner at Su Hong restaurant in Menlo Park. Dimitri Geier was said to pour soy sauce over a plate of rice, which made Harris upset and the two argued for seven minutes. However, the dispute turned violent when the Oakland Raiders star allegedly accused Geier of stealing his underwear, tried to pull down his former boyfriend’s pants and began shaking and punching him. Kwame Harris was then arrested at his home following the fight, charged with felony domestic violence and assault charges. On January 28, 2013, Kwame Harris pleaded not guilty to the charges in San Mateo County Superior Court and posted $75,000 bail after his arrest. His trial was pushed back from February 25 to April 29.

Kwame Harris, who spent five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and one with the Oakland Raiders before retiring in 2008, came out of the closet on Friday (March 29, 2013).

The formal offensive lineman was accused of punching his boyfriend Dimitri Geier in the head as well breaking several bones in his face in August last year.

Kwame Harris’ boyfriend Dimitri Geier was born in Shyghys Qazaqstan, Kazakhstan and studied MBA at University of Cologne. He lives in Los Angeles, California and is a software engineer in Sunnyvale.

Dimitri Geier is 6'1" and about 220 pounds.

Nate Berkus, a talented and dashing interior designer who built a reputation designing spaces for Oprah Winfrey, was photographed attending the Target Dollhouse event at Grand Central Station, Vanderbilt Hall on Monday (May 6, 2013). The 41-year-old was accompanied by his fiance Jeremiah Brent, Rachel Zoe's former assistant. The couple, who were dating for eight-and-a-half months before Nate Berkus popped the question atop Machu Picchu in Peru, were dressed casually for the occasion. They looked very happy as they flashed their million smiles and posed for pictures at the event. The day before, Nate Berkus and his boyfriend Jeremiah Brent were also seen stepping out in New York City after enjoying a lunch together. The newly engaged pair seemed to be in good spirits as they walked their dog during the stroll on the street. Both kept it simple for the outing, with Nate Berkus wearing his favorite denim look and his beau Jeremiah going for the greys and army greens.

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent rocked nearly identical denim outfits, with both wearing denim shirts and trousers with black tops underneath. The happy pair also covered their eyes with aviator sunglasses and kept their tresses in a similar style.

Alan Gendreau: Openly gay kicker hopes to get a shot at the 2013 NFL season (Pictures)

Alan Gendreau, a 23-year-old former Middle Tennessee State kicker, is openly gay and he is hoping to play in the 2013 National Football League season after going undrafted last year. The devout Christian, Florida native came out to his family and friends when he was 15. He started dating boys in high school and had some on-again, off-again relationships with his boyfriends through college. Even Alan Gendreau did not hide his sexual preference as he moved to Murfreesboro to attend Middle Tennessee State, where he was fully embraced by his teammates. During most of the past year, the 5-foot, 10-inch kicker lived in Washington and worked as an assistant at a real estate firm. He is now a free agent and hoping to convince teams to give him a shot at OTAs in the next couple of months. Although the chance of him earning an invite is low, many believe Alan has the talent to lock onto an NFL team. Gendreau amassed 295 points in his career at Murfreesboro. In his sophomore and junior seasons, the Sun Belt Conference's leading scorer kicked a game-winner as time expired against Maryland. In 2009, Alan Gendreau was one of 20 national semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award that honors the top college place-kicker in the U.S.

Alan Gendreau came out as gay at the age of 15. When he came out to his parents in high school, they put him in church-based counseling.

Alan Gendreau was not drafted last year. Instead, he coached at a football camp, where other coaches saw him kick and encouraged him to continue pursuing his dream of playing in the N.F.L.

The all-time leading scorer in Sun Belt Conference once brought his then-boyfriend to a church gathering with friends from high school. He was then removed from the worship after parents of other youth learned that the mystery guest was his boyfriend and he was gay.

As a gay athlete at a Southern college, Alan Gendreau not only felt accepted by his teammates but he was also a successful team member.

Alan Gendreau hoped to get a shot at the NFL this year. If the kicker does make it into the 2013 season, he would not only be the first gay professional football player, but he would also be the first professional player to enter the league openly gay.

Matt Bomer and his publicist partner Simon Halls hang out together for a spa session

Matt Bomer was photographed doing some shopping at Ralph Lauren in Los Angeles on Friday (April 12, 2013). The 35-year-old actor was joined by his partner Simon Halls, with whom he shares three sons born via surrogate, including a set of twins. The couple were seen heading to a spa session together and both of them dressed casually for their day out, with Matt Bomer rocking a plaid shirt and a pair of sunglasses to hide a nasty scratch to the left of his left eye. Next day, the “White Collar” star and his publicist beau were also seen together at the 2013 American Fertility Association Illuminations event in Beverly Hills, California. The Texan native showed up at the show to help honor his friends Elton John and David Furnish as well as the NBC comedy “The New Normal,” which he guest starred on this season. Also attending the event were Brenda Strong, Craig Millian, Ryan Murphy and his partner David Miller.

Matt Bomer, who was up for for one award with his “Magic Mike” co-stars for Best Musical Moment at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, strolled on the street with his partner, Slate PR publicist Simon Halls.

The couple, who are the proud parents of sons Kit, Walker and Henry, looked relaxed and comfortable as they spent some quality time together.
