Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade was officially engaged to his girlfriend of four years Gabrielle Union on Saturday (December 20, 2013). The athlete reportedly proposed to his lady love with a stunning 8.5-carat diamond engagement ring by Jason of Beverly Hills. Dwyane Wade made the announcement of the happy news via Twitter and Instagram as he posted a photo of the huge engagement sparkler. Meanwhile, his love interest also showed off the gorgeous cushion cut stone on Instagram in an image along with the caption, "Sooooo this happened... #Yessss @dwyanewade.” However, the couple haven’t revealed details on when they plans to get married.

This will be the second marriage for both Dwyane Wade and his girlfriend Gabrielle Union. The 31-year-old player previously tied the knot with Siohvaughn Funches but the pair divorced five years later. They have two children together and he has sole custody of the kids. Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union wedded football player Chris Howard before getting engaged to Dwyane Wade.

Before dating the basketball player, the “Think Like a Man Too” actress married football player Chris Howard. Meanwhile, the guard with the Miami Heat previously tied the knot with his high school girlfriend Siohvaughn Funches.

The pair never shied away from expressing their love for one another in public.

Gabrielle Union was known for her roles in "10 Things I Hate About You,” "Meet Dave" and "Bring It On.” Meanwhile, her boyfriend Dwyane Wade was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People and won a gold medal in the 2008 Olympics.

Rocking coordinated outfits for the occasion, the lovebirds looked in good spirits at the show, where their good friends Elton John and David Furnish announced they were officially engaged. Before popping the question to Renee Puente, Matthew Morrison proposed to “All My Children” actress Chrishell Stause, who he dated for two-and-a-half years. However, their romance then hit a stumbling block after Matthew was suspected to cheat on Chrishell with his current girlfriend Renee. They decided to call off their engagement in September 2007, just months before they were due to exchange vows.
