Zac Efron’s fans in Spain couldn’t be more excited because the schedule is often very tight for big movie stars while they were on a press tour. The Top 10 BEST Things About Having a Coach

Obviously, there are many wonderful things about having a personal coach to support and encourage you. Everyone develops their own working relationship with their coach, and each situation is unique. So, with lots of respect for all the many things you may find valuable about having a coach, here are the Top 10 things clients have said to me:

1.  You get personal time to focus on YOUR concerns and priorities every month. It is a wonderful thing to have a personal, private, intimate and challenging conversation  focused exclusively on helping you move forward with confidence. How often do you get the support you need to be your BEST?

2.  Having a coach challenges you to play harder. Having a coach focuses your attention, it clarifies your goals and encourages you to aim higher. Your coach is your biggest cheerleader -- and at times the person you love to hate the most!

3.  You become more productive. You become more efficient, more effective, more results-oriented. Many clients work less and accomplish far more in less time, with less effort and with fewer false-starts.

4.  You become more honest about what you REALLY want. Do you want the promotion, or more time off? Do you want more money, more prestige, or more time to work on your novel, build your boat or be with your family? Telling the truth (to yourself and to your coach) makes life much easier.

5.  You have fewer frustrations. A coach will challenge you to eliminate the distractions, the frustrations, irritations and  annoyances of life. They waste your time and energy, and they hold you back. Eliminate them!

6.  You'll likely have MORE money when you invest  in a great coach. How? You'll simplify your life, take control of your finances, and live, work and spend smarter. You'll make fewer impulse purchases, have fewer unexpected bills, and stay on your budget -- effortlessly! And, since you're more productive, you may even start earning more!

7.  You'll clarify your values and live with greater integrity. You'll discover what's really important to you, and devise a strategy for having more of it in your life. Caution: This may result in major changes!

8.  Your relationships will improve. You'll speak with greater clarity, more confidence and more power. You'll expect a higher level of intimacy, honesty and respect from those around you. And, you'll set boundaries so that your needs are met, while honoring the needs and boundaries of others.

9.  You'll set much higher, larger and more astonishing goals! You'll simply aim higher and live larger. The daily grind will no longer be enough, and you'll expect and pursue a life that is satisfying, fulfilling and challenging. You'll understand that you CAN have it all -- that in fact, having it all is just the beginning!

10.  Life will be easier and richer. Expect that, with a personal coach, your quality of life will be transformed.   You'll get up earlier, stay up later, work harder, play more, and do it all with a level of relaxed enthusiasm that is rare for adults. Kids know about it, but most adults have forgotten what it means to live and work with PASSION! Your coach will remind you!

The Top 10 Steps to Set and Achieve Your Goals - Every Time!

It’s been said that everyone has goals, whether we know it or not. We have goals to keep our current job, or to get a different one. We have goals to save for the future, or to travel, take a vacation, or purchase the things we need and want to make our lives more enjoyable. An important distinction, however, is that top achievers are very intentional and focused on their goals, while many of the rest of us are not.

Top achievers know that the wording, structure, timing and format of a goal can make it’s achievement much easier – or far more difficult. Top achievers understand the basic skills for setting and reaching their goals, every time! They know how to design goals that create success. Here are the 10 most important steps to set and achieve your goals:

1.  Reachable goals are SPECIFIC.  Top achievers know that to reach their goals, the brain must know exactly, precisely, what they are trying to accomplish. Never word a goal with vague terms like “some” or “a little bit”, or “more”. Be specific! If you want to lose 8 pounds and reach a weight of 175, specify those exact numbers. If you want to save $200 this month, be exact. Your brain can help you accomplish almost anything if it knows precisely what you are aiming for.

2.  Reachable goals are SIMPLE. Many people describe their goals in complex terms of retiring on the beach in Hawaii, with nice cars and lots of money, and…. Their list goes on and on. Any ONE of those things is a great goal, but the combination becomes over whelming and the brain gets confused. If you want to retire in Hawaii, just say so! If you want to increase your sales by 10% this month, say so! Keep your goals simple, clear, and focused.

3.  Reachable goals are SIGNIFICANT. No one can muster the enthusiasm, hard work and courage to reach a goal they don’t really care about. A reachable goal is one you really, really, REALLY want! It’s something that will change your life, enhance your health or wealth, and make you proud. It gets your juices flowing, gets you up in the morning, and keeps you going all day long, because it is important! Set goals that are worth achieving!

4.  Reachable goals are STRATEGIC. High achievers know that the best goals accomplish many great outcomes, all at one time. Running a 10K race will almost certainly: 1) feel great! 2) help you lose weight. 3) lower your cholesterol level 4) strengthen your heart 5) lower you risk of heart disease 6) increase your energy and stamina, and 7) improve your outlook. Design your goals to strategically impact as many areas of your life as possible. You’ll have more reasons to reach your goal and more excitement when you do!

5.  Reachable goals are MEASURABLE. A goal without a measurable outcome is just a pipe-dream. You can’t achieve a pound of “happiness” or 6 inches of “self-esteem”, but you CAN get a new job. You CAN run a mile in under 7 minutes, or do 100 sit-ups. Someone has wisely observed that, “What gets measured, gets done.” Define your goals in terms of height, weight, dollars, inches, or hours. Then measure your progress until you achieve your desired outcome.

6.  Reachable goals are RATIONAL. To reach your goal, you will need a plan, a path, and a vehicle for getting there. Your goals must make sense! When you explain them to friends and family, your goals should create excitement, draw support, and encouragement. Your goals should be just out of reach, but not out of sight! You want to stretch to be your best, not strain after impossible dreams. Set goals you CAN and WILL achieve!

7.  Reachable goals are TANGIBLE. Choose goals that you can see, hear, smell or touch. Go for things you will enjoy and that you can clearly visualize. The brain has  hard time going for “financial security”, but it can visualize a bank statement with nice, large numbers on it! Define your goals in terms that excite the senses, then go for it with all your heart!

8.  Reachable goals are WRITTEN. High achievers always know precisely what they want, because they’ve written it down. Often, they write a short description of their goals every single morning, as a personal reminder of their priorities and their objectives. The act of writing your goals down vastly increases your chance of success. Write it down! Then, keep your notes where you can see and read them every day.

9.  Reachable goals are SHARED. We are far more likely to stick to our plan and reach our goals if we know our friends and family support us. Being part of a team increases our determination, our stamina, and our courage.  Caution: Never share your goals with anyone who may ridicule, tease or discourage you!  The world is full of doubters and you have no time for them. But, find a support team, a group of cheerleaders, and a coach who will encourage you every step of the way. High achievers count on and work with other winners!

10.  Reachable goals are CONSISTENT WITH YOUR VALUES. One of the biggest reasons people fail to achieve their goals is that they have conflict between their behavior and their values. However, when your values and your goals are in agreement, there is no stopping you! Clarify your values first, then set simple, specific, measurable, tangible, written goals that are consistent with those values. You will achieve them, every single time!

Asia climate disasters displace 42 million

BANGKOK: Climate-related disasters have displaced more than 42 million people in Asia over the past two years, the Asian Development Bank said Tuesday in a report calling for swift action to avert future crises.

"Asia and the Pacific is the global area most prone to natural disasters, both in terms of the absolute number of disasters and of populations affected," said the report launched here, which was itself affected by flooding last year.

About 31.8 million people in the region were displaced by climate-related disasters and extreme weather in 2010 -- a particularly bad year -- including more than 10 million in Pakistan owing to massive flooding.

A further 10.7 million were forced to flee their homes last year, it said, warning that such events will become more frequent with climate change.

"While many of those displaced returned to their homes as conditions improved, others were less fortunate, struggling to build new lives elsewhere after incurring substantial personal losses," ADB vice-president Bindu Lohani said in a foreword to the report, released at an Asian climate forum.

The bank says Asia has six of the 10 countries most vulnerable to climate change, with Bangladesh and India in the top two places on a list that also includes Nepal, the Philippines, Afghanistan and Myanmar.

"The environment is becoming a significant driver of migration in Asia and the Pacific as the population grows in vulnerable areas, such as low-lying coastal zones and eroding river banks," Lohani said in a separate statement.

"Governments should not wait to act. By taking steps now, they can reduce vulnerability, strengthen resiliency, and use migration as an adaptation tool rather than let it become an act of desperation."

The report, titled Addressing Climate Change and Migration in Asia and the Pacific, said governments in disaster-prone Asia-Pacific countries must enact a range of measures to stave off future crises.

Among other things, it recommended greater investment in urban infrastructure and basic services to accommodate the anticipated increase in migrant flows to the region's megacities.

"By taking actions today, governments can reduce the likelihood of future humanitarian crises and maximise the possibilities that people can remain in their communities or -- should deteriorating environmental conditions make that impractical -- that they have the real option to relocate to a more secure place with livelihood options," it said.

The ADB says the Asia-Pacific region needs to spend about $40 billion a year through 2050 to climate proof against the impact of global warming.

Top 10 Tools to Reach Your Goals Quickly

We all have dreams and goals. Some of them are simply "wishes", like winning the lottery or sailing to Tahiti. But we also have goals that are vital to our futures and the well-being of our families. And yet many of us make little or no progress toward achieving our most important goals. We wait and hope, but get no closer to our dreams. It doesn't have to be that way! We all know people who soar from one project to another, achieving their goals and living the life they want. How do they do it?

1.  Clarity of purpose.  For a dream to become a goal, it must be specific. While it's fun to dream about being rich, it takes courage and hard choices to decide exactly how much money you want and how you are going to earn it. Being "thin" is an image; losing 23 pounds by your birthday is a goal. In life, we probably can't have it all. You can lose 23 pounds, or you can have the cake and ice cream. Your choice. Be clear.

2.  Commitment.  There's a story from ancient Greece about a general who landed his troops on the beach, then burned his ships.  He wanted each soldier to know there was no turning back, no retreat, no alternative to victory. Once your goal is clear, emotionally commit to achieving it. There are no alternatives.

3.  Talk about it.  This is called "accountability". Once you've defined your goal and committed yourself to achieve it, start talking about it! If you want to lose weight, don't blame your spouse for buying ice cream if they don't know and understand your goal! Talking about your goals makes them emotionally real and powerful. It allows people to help you reach your goal and support you along the way. Some people will also criticize or undermine you. Don't talk to them.

4.  Write it down.  This is basic, and one of the oldest, simplest and most powerful techniques for achieving any goal. Write it down! Describe precisely what you want, how you will earn it, when you will have it, and the benefits you'll receive from achieving your goal. Write the details. Write the colors, the shapes and the dates.

5.  Write it every day!  Every morning, use a small card or a corner of your appointment book to record a short description of your goal where you will see it all day long. Don't carry the same card day after day! If your goal is worth anything, it's worth a minute of your time to write a simple sentence describing your dream and focusing on your priorities. Do this every morning.

6.  Have a plan.  Create a map for getting there. And put dates on it! A goal to retire at age 40 has no meaning without a savings and investment strategy. A goal to create your own business is just a fantasy without a plan to attract investors, find a location, hire staff and sell your goods or services. The beauty of a plan is that it allows you to…

7.  Take action every day!  "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Any goal that is worthy of you, is worth a few minutes of your time and some of your energy every single day. To one day write a novel, write a chapter this week. To open your own business, read a business magazine today. To create a more loving family, give someone a hug today. To be salesperson of the year, make a phone call right now!

8.  Use constant affirmations.  One of my clients is a PGA golfer. From the moment his ball lands on the green until he sinks the putt, he repeats over and over "I will make this putt!" He repeats that phrase as many 200 times before every putt! Do you think he would be more, or less, successful if he spent those moments thinking, "I just hope I don't miss it."? Tell yourself what you want to hear!

9.  Review, and re-commit, often.  Never be afraid to review your goals, evaluate whether you are still 100% committed to them, and re-commit to achieving them. If your values, or your choices have changed, change your goals accordingly, and be honest about it! And if your goal still fits, run to it with all your heart!

10.  Celebrate each milestone!  Never wait to have a party! Each deposit in your savings account deserves a checkmark on the calendar and a hug from your partner. Each day without a cigarette deserves a smile and congratulations from your loved ones. Every step toward your goal should be documented and celebrated!   When you get discouraged or have doubts, your record of past successes will quickly get you back on track. Not sure about this? Ask any marathon runner whether they count each mile on their run to the finish line! Celebrate each and every milepost on your path to victory!

Merkel and Sarkozy meet again on euro crisis

BERLIN: After a relatively calm start to the year, the eurozone crisis roared back into the picture on Monday as the euro struggled on the markets ahead of a crunch meeting between the French and German leaders.

The single currency tested fresh 16-month lows against the dollar as doubts continued to rage over Europe's ability to tackle the debt crisis, now entering its third year with little sign of easing.

A slew of disappointing economic data suggesting the 17-member eurozone was heading for recession, coupled with renewed concerns over the health of the region's banks, has combined to revive fears over the bloc's future.

The crisis also appeared to be returning with a vengeance to Athens, where it began, with the International Monetary Fund reportedly expressing growing doubts about Greece's long-term ability to reduce its debts.

Fears that the crisis could spread to the larger economies of Spain and Italy have also resurfaced, with the Spanish economy minister warning banks may face up to 50 billion euros (about RM198 billion) in bad loan provisions.

Analysts were bracing for disappointment from the meeting in Berlin between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, with little concrete expected in the way of proposed solutions.

"As a result the euro will probably continue to struggle," said Carolin Hecht, a currency strategist at Commerzbank.

"Today’s meeting between Merkel and Sarkozy is unlikely to deliver any surprises," DBS Group Research analysts said.

The euro fell to $1.2665 in Asian trade but recovered some lost ground to trade above $1.27 in Europe mid-morning deals.

European stock markets opened broadly unchanged as traders hedged their bets ahead of the Franco-German meeting.

The power couple at the heart of efforts to stem the euro crisis were due to meet for a working lunch in Berlin -- their first tete-a-tete of the year -- to finalise positions ahead of a pivotal EU summit on January 30.

They will work on a strategy to boost growth in the embattled eurozone and create more jobs, as unemployment in the bloc remains stubbornly high.

The two leaders, dubbed "Merkozy," will also seek to flesh out the details of a so-called fiscal compact, agreed in principle by all EU states apart from Britain in December, that will tighten budgetary laws in Europe.

Participating countries agreed to aim for balanced budgets and to introduce domestic laws to ensure that deficits do not get out of hand. At the same time, they agreed to accept automatic punishments if they deviate from this promise.

But cracks have appeared in the carefully crafted Franco-German unity, with Sarkozy vowing to go it alone on a tax on financial market transactions, in contrast to Berlin, which wants a broader consensus on the levy.

The two leaders were expected to hold a joint news conference at 1:30 pm (1230 GMT).

The meeting in Berlin kicks off a flurry of diplomatic activity as European leaders seek to draw a line under the crisis.

On January 20, Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti will host Merkel and Sarkozy in Rome, ahead of a crunch meeting of eurozone finance ministers in Brussels three days later.

Speaking late Sunday in Rome, Monti denied that the euro was in crisis but warned of a systemic crisis in Europe driven by debt.

Hungary, which is an EU member but does not use the euro, was lurching deeper into turmoil.

All three major ratings agencies have downgraded Hungary's bonds to junk status, pushing the country's currency, the forint, to lows against the euro and its borrowing costs to an unsustainable level above 10 per cent.

IMF and EU officials broke off preliminary talks with Budapest last month about a possible credit line of 15-20 billion euros ($20-25 billion) due to worries about reforms to the central bank.

In concerns echoed by the European Central Bank, the IMF and EU fear that the legislation, part of a barrage of reforms under a new constitution, will give the government undue influence in setting interest rates.

A spokesman for Merkel confirmed in the run-up to the meeting that Hungary's problems would be on the agenda.

Top 10 Miraculous Benefits of keeping a Personal Journal

In earlier generations it was common to keep a diary or personal journal. Today few people do it, and very few recognize the value and astonishing power of keeping a journal. If you can read and write, you have access to the most amazing source of personal power and magic! Try it for 30 days and watch it transform your life!   Clients periodically tell me they couldn't possibly find the time. I ask them to try it for 30 days. Then clients often tell me they couldn't possibly live without the power of their journals. The following are my list of the top 10 reasons to keep a journal.

  1. A journal will clarify your goals.   As you write a few thoughts each day, your ideas about what is important, what is worthy of your life and your time will become much clearer. You'll automatically discover what you really want in life.

  2. A journal will simplify your life.  Spending as little as 10 minutes with pen and paper describing your values, noting your achievements and giving thanks for the joys of life, will make you less tolerant of life's distractions. Things become much simpler when you write them down.

  3. A journal will strengthen your relationships.  It will give you time and the words to express your feelings, it will help you understand and be patient with your loved one's peccadilloes, and it will teach you to love more powerfully.

  4. A journal will make you more attractive.  Socrates said, "Know thyself." Keeping a journal will help you know yourself and express yourself more clearly, and that is amazingly attractive!

  5. A journal will empower you.  Thinking with pen and paper forces you to eliminate fuzzy or confusing images and "laser" in on precisely the right word, the most powerful image to express yourself. Keeping a journal will make you more a better communicator, and that can make you rich!

  6. A journal will eliminate temptation.  Some ideas sounds great in our imagination, but when written on paper they just aren't the same! It's easy to blurt out "I hate my job!", but writing about what it means to quit, change careers and start over will quickly result in one of two things: The temptation will go away, or you'll start generating actual plans to make your life better. Either way, you win!

  7. A journal affirms the reality of your life.  Writing about life adds meaning and power. Journal your child's first steps or first tooth, starting school, her first date and high school graduation adds substance to these things. A friend of mine just became a grandfather for the first time and gave his son, the proud father, a fat 3-ring binder of notes he'd written as he'd watched his baby boy grow 25 years ago. Together they cried and laughed at the reality that life is a sacred, wonderful thing.

  8. A journal helps you be quiet.  Journalizing has been called a form of meditation. It has a similar power to quiet the mind and focus your thoughts. It even has the power to turn off the TV! It can heal anxiety, change your breathing and make you smile. What more could you ask?

  9. A journal helps you speak out.  Many of my articles, letters to the local paper, and letters to friends began as notes in my journal. A journal helps ideas become words, and it provides a nursery for words to grow into sentences and paragraphs, until finally they need a stage on which to express themselves. Sometimes that "stage" is a candle-lit dinner, other times it's a protest sign or a letter to an old friend. Whatever form it takes, many of those messages would never have been born without the safety of a journal in which to grow.

  10. Finally, a journal just feels good!  Using quality paper and a fountain pen or other beautiful instrument with just the right "heft" and feel is a wonderfully sensuous, delightful experience. It will cheer you up, reduce your stress, make you smile and add to your life. Who knows, it may even improve your sex life or make you more patient with the kids! (Well, it might!)

The Solutions to Life's 10 Biggest Problems!

Every day clients tell me about their problems, often in great detail, and I've noticed patterns that show up over and over. For many people, life’s problems are viewed as "not enough money" or "not enough time". For couples, the problems are often around "communication" or "parenting" or sex. They think if they only had more money or more time or better sex or a better job, things would be wonderful.

But it doesn’t work that way, because these things are not the BIG PROBLEM. From my experience, I suggest life's really big problems are:

1. Tunnel Vision. The tendency to focus only on the immediate crisis or sore spot. Under stress, things look worse or more complex than they really are. The solution: Perspective. Ask if it will matter in 6 months. Ask what else is going on? How did I create this situation and, in an ideal world, what would I like to do about it?

2. Fear. The anxiety or terror that things will go badly, that we will fail or be embarrassed. The solution: Humor and Curiosity. Modern life has very few saber-tooth tigers. The situation is rarely life or death. Ask, What's the worst that can happen? What's the best? What can I learn? What would I do if I had no fear?

3. Confusion. The sense of being lost or unclear about our direction. The sense that we don't know our own priorities anymore. The solution: Responsible Choices. Choose your values and priorities and set your own path. Your life is yours. Check your moral compass, pick a direction and do something extraordinary!

4. Guilt. The belief that we have hurt or failed or sinned and deserve punishment. Guilt is either accurate, because sometimes we do behave badly, or it is false and simply an illusion. The solution: If we have transgressed, we must make restitution, ask forgiveness, learn from our error and move on. If it is false guilt, set it down as an unnecessary and irrational burden.

5. Shame. The belief that we are worth-less than others, that we have a terrible, incurable flaw. It is not that we have done something wrong (guilt), but that we are bad or wrong. The solution: Clear, rational thinking. Everyone has behaved badly, but no one was created badly! Any flaws only serve to make you stronger, more heroic or more compassionate toward others.

6. Loneliness. The belief that no one loves us, that no one cares and we must desperately cling to anyone who finds us attractive or acceptable. This creates dependency, not intimacy. The solution: Accurate Self-Assessment. Not everyone will love you, but many people will if they meet you, get to know you, and spend time working/playing along side you.

7. Resentment. Holding anger and refusing to move beyond real or imagined mistreatment in the past. Some people spend their whole lives as "victims", nurturing a terrible event in their past. The solution: Let go! Life is not fair and people do not always behave well or kindly. Use your trauma to make you wise, kind, gentle, and strong. Holding anger will not work.

8. Self-Doubt. The repeated, endless questioning of your own abilities, opinions or actions. The inability to take a stand, to act boldly, or to follow-through. The solution: Action! Think clearly, then take action and follow-through. Start small, but do it! You are the world's expert on your life! Use your wisdom to live well.

9. Stubbornness. The refusal or inability to re-assess a situation, change your mind, or admit you were wrong. The solution: Wisdom and Humility. Only a fool stays on a course that is headed for disaster! Search for new and better information, remain flexible, open and creative. When the situation changes, adjust accordingly and set a new course.

10. Addiction. Humans become addicted to drugs, but we also become addicted to our jobs, our opinions or our lifestyle. We can be addicted to people and need them rather than love them. The solution: Take a vacation! Periodically, walk in someone else's shoes. Break your habits, re-arrange your schedule, delegate those things that only you can do "right". Use habits and traditions to set you free, don't let habits enslave you!

Enjoy The Game More With These World of Warcraft Tips

World of Warcraft is a great game that can bring hours of enjoyment. Here are some World of Warcraft tips that maybe not everybody knows about yet.

Make a "bank alt." This is simply a level one character that you leave next to the bank or auction house in a major city. Instead of taking the time for your main character to fly or ride to the auction house you simply mail the items to your level one character. Then once your auction sells you can mail the gold back to your main character or anybody else who needs it.

If you are making use of your bank and bag space you should organize it. If you have quest items it really helps if you put them in the same bag every time. This makes them much easier to locate. You can also sort your items by gear. A lot of people have different sets for different talent builds. Putting all the novelty items in the same place really helps, too. A novelty item is something that has no actual effect on game play, like a cool looking tabard.

Use the minimap to find things. The minimap in the top right corner has the ability to show you where nearby flight paths, profession trainers, reagent vendors, or herbs or mining nodes are. If you need to find one of these, quit looking around in frustration and find the yellow dot on your map. Some of these World of Warcraft tips are mentioned in the tutorial on the loading screen but there's a reason they are there, too. Because they are handy!

A lot of new players get excited when they find a town they have never been to before. They go around talking to all the NPCs, getting quests, checking out new vendors and exploring. This is great, but the first thing you should do at any new location is tag the flight path. This ensures that you have the capability to return to that location without walking or riding or flying there.

Make use of your hearthstone. Your hearthstone is on a 30 minute cooldown but it can transport you to any town you have it set to. This is a really powerful ability. It means you can go complete a quest, then hearth back to town and turn it in. If you have it set to Shattarah or Dalaran you can have access to any of the towns that those cities can port you to.

A much less common use of a hearthstone is to save yourself in combat when in a raid or instance when something goes horribly wrong. Say you are in a big raid and the tank dies. This usually means the mob or boss is going to kill the rest of the raid. It is possible for a quick thinking player to use their hearthstone to escape to safety. This is usually only something you should do with a group you are planning on leaving anyway.

If you have a list of friends, use the power to make notes about people This can be their professions, who they are in real life, what they want from you, or almost anything. It can really come in handy when you need a jewelcrafter or enchanter and don't want to ask around in trade chat for one. Hopefully, at least one of these World of Warcraft tips come in handy on your next visit to Azeroth.

Ten Suggestions That You Can Try In Personal Development After Your Divorce

Do you feel unhappy because you are unfulfilled? Do you feel like you should be doing a lot more? Did your divorce leave you feeling lost? There are solutions for that. You need to focus on ways to develop your potential. This article describes 10 approaches that you can follow in becoming the person that you want to be.

Before you do anything else, it is important that you decide on what you want out of life. What are your priorities? What things are important to you? Be truthful and honest with yourself when you answer those questions. Your answers will determine what course in life you are going to take. So, think carefully about what you want so that you will head in the right direction.

When you know what you want out of life, you are ready to set some goals. These goals should be attainable and realistic. Write down these goals and revisit them regularly so that you will have a point of reference when you are making decisions on what to do. Keeping your eyes on your goals will keep you on the right track. When you see yourself deviating from your goals, change directions.

Nothing affects personal development more than negative thinking about yourself. It is detrimental for your self-confidence, and it can get you down. Losing confidence can tempt you to stop working toward your goals. Do not fall into that trap. When you feel negative about yourself, immediately think of something that you are good at, and pay yourself a compliment. Keep emphasizing on your strengths to turn your negative feelings into positive ones. This is a way to keep you moving toward your development goals.

Create a phrase, or mantra, that exemplifies the goals in your life. This mantra should contain words that are motivating and full of hope. It should be something that you take to heart in your journey to better yourself. When you encounter obstacles, your mantra will remind yourself what your purpose is and why you must continue.

A lot of helpful information about personal development can be learned from books. Many books have been published by experts and life coaches in the field. These books can provide tools, strategies and encouragement as you embark on your personal journey. A self-help book can give you ideas that you have never thought of. These are wonderful resources for you to keep on hand.

You should spend some time thinking about the people that are in your life. Make a first list of the people who support you and are important to you, and a second list of people who do not contribute much to the quality of your life. You should cultivate your relationships of the people on your first list because they are people who are meaningful to you. If there are people in your life who are naysayers, who can impede upon your personal goals, avoid spending time with them. You want to surround yourself with people who mean something to your life to make your life richer.

Make a list of your habits that are undesirable. This is not a way to make you feel bad about yourself. On the contrary, this list will be a useful tool in helping you focus on areas that need improvement. If you can work on kicking one bad habit every month, you would make great personal improvements by the end of the year. Imagine how good you will feel as you check off each bad habit that you have beaten.

Sometimes you need guidance in moving toward your goals. This is where a mentor can be helpful. Find someone whom you respect and whose qualities you admire. This person can help you sort out your goals, point you in the right direction and give you encouragement every step of the way.

Do not be afraid to try something new. The more new experiences you get, the more well-rounded you become. Do not worry about failing because this is all part of learning. Only by trying something new can you expand your horizons and discover your potentials.

Record your progress in a journal. This is a good way to keep track of your accomplishments and successes. It is also a good way to keep track of things that did not work out because you can then learn from your mistakes. At times when you feel like you are not making much progress, look back on your journal. You will be amazed at how far you have come from the beginning, and this can motivate you to keep going.

You do not have to remain the way you are. There are a number of ways to make your situation better. You have the potential to become the person that you want to be, and you just have to believe in yourself. This article includes suggestions that will help you start on your personal journey, but it is up to you to complete your journey.

Online Time Management: 5 Tips to Help You Get Over Time Management Procrastination

One of the biggest challenges to being self-employed or working for yourself, is your online time management. As a self-employed marketer/advertiser online, I find I suffer frequently from what I call Time Management Procrastination. It's just so easy when you're the boss to let things slide until it's an emergency and you must absolutely get the task done. Here are 5 tips to help you get out of this habit and start being productive today, not tomorrow.

1) Create A Challenge For Yourself

Play a game with yourself that causes you to complete an achievable but challenging project. Sometimes we procrastinate because the task seems too large to manage. For example, you have an information product to create and just don't know where to start. Rather than putting "create information product" on your task list, break the project up into several smaller steps. The first one could be, "Outline information product" or "Choose title for information product." These smaller, more attainable goals are easier to accomplish and won't make you feel as if you have to do it all at once.

2) Utilize A Personal Rewards System

This is so important for self-employed people. You need to make sure to reward yourself. Work hard, play hard is the cliché, right? Well take advantage of it. Make a to-do list at the beginning of the week and promise yourself a day off, where you do something fun, when the list is complete.

It's easier to commit to this reward if you involve other people. For example, if you make an appointment for a massage on Friday, well you had better have your task list done by Thursday night or you're going to have to cancel on your masseuse and she'll never book you an appointment again for cancelling at the last minute. You're making yourself accountable.

3) Discover and Identify Your Personal Distractions

Find out what you personally use to procrastinate online! We all do it, but what we use is different for each person. Do you watch television? Run errands? Surf the net? Determine what distracts you. Spend a day or two working, or procrastinating, like you usually do, and simply take note of your online time management. For example, when I did this I found my 2 main online distractions were reading up on the news of the day, or visiting my favorite advertising/marketing blog, and checking my email too much. Once you find out what your personal distractions are (and we all have them) you can move on to the next step below...

4) Distraction Elimination Campaign

Once you understand your personal online time management scenario, then it's time to get tough. Eliminate the distractions. For example, if you find that you often let household chores deter you from being productive, schedule a time for household chores. Give yourself thirty minutes at lunchtime to get a chore list completed and then go back to work.

5) Tools Are Your Friends

Use tools to help you. Time-tracking tools, both online and off, are great for developing better online time management. You can, for example, use something as simple as an egg timer. Set it for thirty-five minutes. Work for thirty-five minutes and when the timer dings, give yourself ten minutes or so to stretch, walk around the block, put away the clean dishes, or something other than work. Then go back and set the timer again.

Get creative with these tools and ideas and use them to help you stay on task and stop procrastinating. By developing better online time management you will become more efficient. Greater efficiency means your business will be able to provide more value and thus, earn you more money!

A Way To Defeat Nervous About The Unknown For Greater Self Improvement

Author: harrytan
Personal development is an ongoing process of making yourself into the best person you can be. It is reaching inside and pulling out your inner potential. To start the hard work towards your goals, find some advice to keep energized. The following article has many ideas that you can implement now.

The first step in changing is making a decision to change. Growth and improvement do not happen until you willingly embrace these changes.

Instead of bragging about achievements, you should ask others about theirs. This helps you discover what other people have accomplished to help you respect them which in turn betters your character.

Thinking about growing and changing will only take you so far; in order to achieve your goals, you need to actively implement the changes. If you want to change and grow, accept it, and do it.

A great suggestion to enhance your personal development is to make certain that value is placed on those things you think of as being the best. Make reaching your goals one of the most important aspects of your life.

Don't waste your energy on the small things. You will have much more inner peace if you just choose to focus on things that matter to you.

In order to grow as a person, you must accept change and learn how to thrive with it. When we consciously choose to change, it is easier to do so.

Direct your personal development efforts toward the values that are important to you. You will surely find inner peace by focusing your thoughts on things that are important as opposed to those that don't matter at all.

If you don't take care of yourself, you won't be able to take care of others. No matter what point you are in on your journey, you should always take time to breathe.

Unless you are willing to work towards your personal goals, you will never be able to grow as a person. You can only change and grow when you openly welcome the changes and choose to evolve.

Establish your priorities, and then focus on them wholeheartedly. When it comes to focusing your feelings and emotions, strive to apply them to the important aspects of your life that build happiness, and do not waste them on the negative aspects that weigh you down and prevent inner peace.

Nobody is perfect, and most of us make the occasional dietary error. Stress can harm your body, and life is too short to worry about every little thing.

You need to decide what type of lifestyle would suit you best, then you can set goals that can realistically be attained. If you find what your weaknesses are, you can work to eliminate them and become a better person.

Do not over do it physically when trying to attain a goal. While you should always give it your all, understand when you have reached your limit. You have to keep your body in mind when you are trying to accomplish something. Your personal development will suffer greatly if you sacrifice your health.

One good tip when you are looking into personal development opportunities is to respect your body. If you feel thirsty, hungry, etc., you need to correct that issue right away. Make sure to give you body the vitamins and nutrients it needs to provide you with a sufficient amount of energy. Ignoring your body's signals will only hurt you in the long run.

Try new challenges. This can create new possibilities in your life. Additionally, you will understand your limits and improve your abilities. Another benefit of challenging yourself is the ability to maximize your level of accomplishment. Rather than following in other people's footsteps, try doing your own thing and forging your own path.

Know the obstacles you face before you hit them. This has proven to be an obstacle for a large number of people. However, identifying what our weaknesses are is one of the first things you have do in order to address and change it. By removing just a few obstacles in your way, you will discover that your future is much more clear.

Improve your life by taking on the habits that have brought success to others. Begin by identifying a few basic behaviors, then focus on making the necessary improvements one step at a time until they become fully integrated into your daily life. You should keep it up for at least 21 days to make it a habit.

It is possible to learn how to cope in a crisis without letting your emotions take full control. If you can learn how to stay cool during high-stress situations, you are likely to gain the confidence that you need to conquer just about anything in your daily life. Take the time to relax and take some deep breaths.

Be on the lookout for new ways to challenge yourself. New challenges open new possibilities for you. It is possible to gain new abilities and new perspectives. You might even make yourself a role model for others. Try to think of innovative accomplishments, rather than following in everyone else's tracks.

It is our sincere hope that the information we offer here will be helpful to you and those you love. Applying the advice from this article can really have a positive outcome for your future as long as you are determined to make the changes. It may take a real effort to do this, but putting these tips to work will be very worthwhile.

Is the Seven Year Itch a Myth?

By Johanna Lyman

Is seven years (give or take) the natural lifespan of a monogamous relationship? If we didn't have social constraints, would most relationships end gracefully at about seven years?

It seems reasonable. Studies have found that animals whose children need more time and attention to rear are more likely to be monogamous. In human children, by the age of six or seven they're in school full time, so the intense pressure of caring for them has eased.

As I was driving home tonight I was thinking about multiples of seven as they relate to children. At seven, children are in school full time. At fourteen, they can take care of themselves if their parents want to go out for the night. I know some kids are capable of this a little earlier than fourteen, but not by much. The Department of Social Services would be knocking at your door if your eleven year old was home alone too much. And then the magical year, twenty-one. They are officially adults, and if they've gone to college on the four year plan, this is the year they graduate. They can vote, they can drive, and they can apply for their own credit...free at last!!

I wish I could find a sociologist who's either done a study about this or would be interested in conducting such a study. Many of my clients are at one of these milestones, with most of them around twenty or twenty-one years in their relationships. Maybe it's a coincidence and it's more their own age (early 40's), but either way I think it's a fascinating study of social culture.

The closest I've come to finding such a study is unfortunately in German, but I have a synopsis. Sociologist Gerald Mollenhorst created a study that investigated how the context in which we meet people influences our social network. In other words, if you met your husband at a bar, would he be as attractive as if your sister introduced you? Even though this study was about the context of our social networks, I think the results can be extrapolated with interesting results.

Mollenhorst conducted a survey of 1007 people ages 18 to 65 years. Seven years later the respondents were contacted once again and 604 people were interviewed again. They answered a number of questions relating to the context of how they knew the people in their network.

The results: personal network sizes remained stable, but many members of the network were new. Only 30 percent of the original friends and discussion partners had the same position in a subject's network seven years later, and only 48 percent were still part of the social network.

Left to our own devices, according to this study, we would naturally turn over our social network by 71% in 14 years. This confirms my suspicion that long term monogamy is a social constraint rather than the natural order or human beings. That doesn't make it right or wrong, but if you're hanging on to something because you think you're supposed to be in it "'til death do you part", think again.

On the other hand, one of the really cool things about being human is that we get to stretch our boundaries. If we really want to maintain monogamy, we can. Whether we choose to stay or go, we have ample opportunities to learn the lessons we've chosen to learn. Leaving without the lesson is like having coffee without the caffeine. If you like the taste, it's great, but if you need the jolt, you'd better stick around for it.
